Memories of Our Dad, Ralph B. McCauley

Auto mechanic, machinist, maintenance foreman for the school district, school bus driver, butcher, meat cutter, farmer, rancher, dairy man, electrician, plumber, carpenter, painter, cowboy, mayor, firechief, chef ... such are some of the roles of Ralph McCauley. Beyond being a capable and skilled provider, Ralph McCauley was a loving family man and a friend to all. Losing his father at the age of 17, Ralph began a lifelong pursuit of doing what needed to be done (be it cooking sourdough biscuits over a camp fire or blasting dynamite) ... and doing it with a sense of pride, craftsmanship, and good old-fashioned hard work. Though young when his father died, it’s apparent Ralph learned the lessons needed from his father to live a life with distinction. The story of Ralph McCauley shows that a great man can pass on a great legacy, regardless of the time he is given.
