Building a replica of the 50 ft. wooden oyster dredge, IDA MAY, was a project of the Christeen Oyster Sloop Preservation Corp in Oyster Bay, NY. This is the story of the volunteers and professionals, supported by individual and government donors, who undertook this daunting project. IDA MAY was launched in 2023 and now is a floating classroom at The WaterFront Center, connecting people to the water through education and recreation.
