Paralegal's Journal

ByJamie Whitmer

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Now available in a larger spiral bound size! This new version of the Paralegal's Journal will lie-flat on your desk. Keep your daily list open beside you while you work! This is the second version of the Paralegal's Journal ever published. It is a 8.5 x 11 size with the addition of calendars, habit trackers, and a goal planning sheet. The journal is designed with prompts that are broken out into three primary topic sections of a paralegal’s life that include: tasks; information to obtain/people to contact; and documents to obtain. Productivity studies have repeatedly demonstrated that workers are most effective if they first only focus on three medium-to-large sized work projects per day. Focusing first on your top three most important tasks is a productivity tool to help you become indistractable and relentless at "getting the most important things done." We all know that we couldn't make a journal big enough for every task a paralegal completes on a daily basis. Instead, this journal should be used to keep you focused on moving your top three most important tasks first, before you get distracted by the phone, by email, or by anything that attempts to deter you from your mission. Your priority items for tomorrow are best determined at the end of your current working day. Prioritizing your day will save you time and energy, and can also help keep you motivated and focused throughout your work day. The blank lines in the front of the book are for your use as an indexing system that will aid in reflection and planning throughout the year. Think of the Paralegal's Journal as your personal system for achieving goals at work. The last few pages of the Paralegal's Journal come with marked pages that have already been indexed for you. Topics include: Major Projects - Goals Achieved; Continuing Education; Networking / Associations; Vendors; and Contacts. Jamie has often thought to herself: “I document, therefore I am.” It is her hope that this Paralegal's Journal not only makes you feel better about your progress at work, but that it will also serve as a useful tool for you for performance evaluations. The software you use at work to manage tasks and deadlines cannot be relied upon to measure your contributions or value. What of your individual accomplishments? If you do not personally note them, it is the same as though they never existed. We must make records. We must prove what we have done, and what we can do.
