SCARED-Y-CAT

Jane is a scared-y-cat. Her friend tells her a boa constrictor lives in the house across from her church, and that it eats children. Jane knows this doesn't sound right but she wonders if this is true. After all she thinks a bear lives under her bed. She plans to look in the woman's window to see the snake. While she's trying to get up the nerve she has many things happen to her. She learns that she can even scare herself. Humor fills the boook as Jane gets a shrinking swimsuit and a mean teacher she has to deal with. This story is based on real life events that ocurred in a small town in Western Nebraska in the 1940's. Scared-y-Cat would be appropriate for children 8-12 years of age, but would be enjoyed by adults as well.
