This story centers around a group of young people who find each other and become a family. It tells how the events of 911 affected these New Yorkers. How they coped with the loss of one of their loved ones who had died in the WTC towers. It brings racial tensions to a peak, the subject of 'passing', black on white hatred, and how these people are healed of all their sexual, social, and racial hangups. It shows how people, all different on the outside are so amazingly the same on the inside. This is a feel good book, although there is sadness and heartbreak, things all work together for the good of all. It restores hope in humanity that many of us believe is nonexistent.A must read for all ages
