This book contains an outline of my thoughts on the subject matter contained in II Peter. In commenting on the more complex passages, I took a plain text approach; for example, when Peter wrote, “things shall be dissolved”; I took him at his word. As with I Peter, this Epistle was written in a time when the Church was being persecuted and driven about. The Churches needed encouragement; so, Peter wrote to “stir up” their “pure minds” and ours too, for the Church in our day also needs encouragement. In times of distress it is good to be reminded that God is sovereign in both power and authority and that He will not leave us to face our adversaries alone and that one great and blessed day He will take His Elect Home!
