1862 Diary of Rebecca Marilla Hine Sackett

Rebecca Marilla Hine Sackett was a young married woman raising her family in western Connecticut during the Civil War, after briefly living in Iowa. Married to Henry Eldred Sackett, with one living child, Clara, she began a diary in 1862, writing regularly from January 1 until September 1. This is a transcription of that diary, with additional notes to add context to her family, friends, religion, and current events of the time, including the Civil War.
