When Simon first met West McCann, he thought she was perfect. When he found out she was anorexic, her father beat her, and she was addicted to heroin, he still thought she was perfect. So it was no surprise that when she asked him to run away with her, his answer was yes. So began a dangerous whirlwind teenage romance, a love triangle between a boy, a girl, and a drug. Living on the streets, and in drug clinics, West and Simon somehow manage to survive. When Simon meets one of his high school friends, they think they’ve finally found a way to be safe. But they soon find out some friends can’t be trusted.
