Yoga Alchemy: Turning Props Into Power
This book will get you started with ways to level up or level down your practice with yoga blocks and straps. Included are ways to use dowel rods and walls to get a new experience of personal proprioception. Developing the skill of knowing where your body is in space (proprioception) calms anxiety, reduces stress and helps balance your nervous system.
This guide targets the foundational poses of Power Yoga and includes over 70 different ways to use props in over 36 poses. You will be able to put these props into practice immediately and know how to engage your own musculature or how to cue your students in their practice to engage the primary muscle groups of their body.
The poses are first grouped by the type of prop used, then the yoga pose or body part targeted by the yoga prop. English and Sanskrit names for poses are used as well as yoga stick figures.

Clear line drawings illustrate the use of the prop and the yoga pose. The drawings are accompanied by easy-to-understand explanations of the muscle activation for each pose, a description of how the prop can impact the experience of the pose and directional indicators to show the rotation of and energy movement for the body in each pose.
Included is a new structure for your Pilgrimage To Power. Each section of the practice has an energetic quality, each section building on the previous. The sequence targets all four planes of the body's movement, ensuring a complete body experience.
The book is the result of seven years of dedicated documentation, drawing on the knowledge gained from attending hundreds of yoga classes in studios across the United States.
