Unconventional Portraits: Photographs by Charles E. Moody
This book was produced in conjunction with the exhibition "Unconventional Portraits: Photographs by Charles E. Moody," co-organized by the Dyer Library/Saco Museum (Saco, Maine) and the McArthur Public Library (Biddeford, Maine), and presented at the Saco Museum January 15 through February 26, 2011. The book details the life and photography of Charles E. Moody, a Saco native who became active in photography circles in Newark, New Jersey, and York County, Maine. The illustrations in the book--featuring subjects from Coney Island, New York, to Old Orchard Beach, Maine--are scanned directly from original glass plate negatives in the collections of the Dyer Library, Saco Museum, and McArthur Public Library. Also included are essays by Renee DesRoberts, Archivist at the McArthur Public Library, and Jessica Skwire Routhier, Director of the Saco Museum.
