This book is designed for the purpose of reciting these sūtras, and is intended to meet the needs of English-speaking (or Roman Alphabet Reading) Buddhists, who wish to chant the text in the style common among Japanese Buddhists. Although this manual is based upon the texts used within the Tendai School 天台宗, it is hoped that they will be of use to the greater Japanese Buddhist Community. We hope that the availability of this manual will facilitate a greater engagement with traditional Buddhist practices.
