The promise of parenting is filled with potential and excitement, as well as anxiety and confusion. It is a highly emotional experience. For adult survivors of child abuse, this experience can be even more intense and emotional, leading to angst, distress, and panic, but an adult from an abusive past can grow up to have a normal, healthy life and happy children.
