The Family of William Snelling and Sarah Scott
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This book not only studies William Snelling and Sarah Scott and their descendants but places them in in their historical context. Seven of their ten children moved from Kentucky to Missouri and from there to Oregon and California by 1851. The trips they took, the trails they followed, and the hardships they endured are described in some detail. Maps of the trails are included. For the following century most of the descendants could be found in California, Oregon, Washington, Mississippi, and Texas. They are more widely scattered today, but Oregon and Texas seem to be where the biggest concentrations now live. 286 pages; photos; everyname index.
