Jo Gresham Loomis, a former art teacher and artist, was experiencing artist's block for many years. She had simply quit going to the studio in her home, allowing any and every excuse to stay away. She was busy with the grandchildren, she had people to see and places to go. Busy, busy, busy.
Then came the onset on the coronavirus lock-down. One day she went to the studio with the intent to straighten up. She picked up a blank, lined journal and before she knew it she had knocked out a collage, the first of what was to become Art in the Time of Coronavirus. From March 20 through July 20, 2020, she created 30 entries in the art journal. She didn’t create one every day. Some took multiple days, and sometimes she would start one and not work on it again for several days. She entitled each page Art in the Time of Coronavirus, with a number notation, and posted them on social media. Her followers were enthusiastic with encouragement to create a book. Luckily her daughter is a graphic designer and put the book into the proper format for publishing.
Jo Gresham Loomis lives in Dallas, Texas, with her husband David. She has three grown children, all married, six grandchildren and two dogs, Sky and Blue.
