
Hillbilly, and the Musings of a Wayward Daughter is the story of a of a miner's daughter growing up in a coal camp in Yancy, Kentucky in the 1930s and 40s. In writing about the life of her mother, the author, Jody Lynn McBrien, finds her own life an inextricable piece of her mother's. Thus, this book is both biography and autobiography and a journey through memories to discover understanding, forgiveness, and love.
Jody Lynn McBrien is an Assistant Professor of Education at the University of South Florida.
