Cairo Delgado and the Cure for Cancer

Cairo Delgado is a misunderstood high school student that doesn’t know what he wants to do with the rest of his life. He does know that he wants to be rich and famous because he thinks it’s the only way the girl of his dreams (Sophie Fields) will become interested in him. When he sees on Facebook that Sophie’s mother has just been diagnosed with breast cancer, he takes a sudden interest in medicine to see if he can help her in any way so he can win Sophie’s heart. He reads on Wikipedia that there’s a plant that grows in western China that has much stronger cancer-fighting properties than any drug on the market. He travels to the base of the Himalayas to retrieve it, and after he returns to the United States with it, he is confronted by a malicious physician (Dr. Decken) who finds out about his discovery and wants to take credit for it. Cairo's life becomes much more difficult as a result, as he is immersed in a world of dirty politics and unimaginable financial possibilities.
