This is an extended family history of an immigrant family, beginning with the earliest known paternal ancestor, Ifvar (Ivar) Ericksson, born 3 January, 1781. After that the focus is on my own branch of the family, headed by Ivar's grandson, my great-grandfather, Johannes Bengtsson (a.k.a. D. John Bengtson) in America.
Having lost touch with great-uncle Andrew's and great-uncle Emil's families (the former moved to Southern California and the latter remained in Nebraska), the focus is again tightened to descendants of John Bengtson (1869-1965), after "Grandpa John" moved the family to Alberta, Canada, in 1919.
