Her Memories, Family Life and Pioneer Heritage

ByCarrie Elizabeth Lee BairdDouglas F Baird

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
The first four chapters are an autobiography of Caroline (Carrie) Lee Baird. Her focus is on her parents and their pioneer ancestry along with memories of her growing up years in Oakley, Idaho. In 1902 the family moved to Brigham City, Utah, where she met and married John Ezra Baird. Thereafter, chapters 5-10 actually become a family biography, written mostly by her husband from his journal accounts. The Epilogue in Chapter 11, was written by their grandson, Douglas F. Baird, son of their only son, John Edwin Baird. The Appendices A-G make up a large part of the book, and contain pertinent information about Carrie's extended family and pioneer ancestry, including the Lees, Higleys, Munjars and Cheneys, all early converts of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Numerous family histories, genealogical pedigrees, photos of pioneer structures in Oakley and Brigham City, and photos of gravestones in the Brigham City Cemetery are featured. A copy of John Ezra Baird's autobiography from the time of his birth in 1877 until his courtship of Carrie in 1902 is included in Appendix D. The book contains over 500 photos contributed by descendants of Carrie and John: the Baird, Howell, Haroldsen and Smedley families.
