John Lightfoot (March 29, 1602 – December 6, 1675) was an English churchman and rabbinical scholar. In a verse by verse format, Lightfoot relates medieval rabbinic traditions, the writings of Josephus, and other Jewish materials to the New Testament. This edition is reprinted from the 1859 English edition, with a more recent introduction by R. Laird Harris, Professor of Old Testament at Covenant Theological Seminary.
