In 2018, John Locke successfully defended his creative dissertation at Union Institute and University in Cincinnati titled, “Utopia Revisited,” which consisted of an analysis of Latin American, feminist utopian literature, a survey of the history and resurgence of the illustrated novel, and the inclusion of an original, 400-page, full-color illustrated annotated historical novel. Utopia Revisited follows the lives of five people whole lived in the time of the Great Discovery," as Europeans have referred to it. However, as a few of the characters remind us, there were thousands of indigenous people who already called it home. Locke is currently writing a sequel to Utopia Revisited titled, “Defending El Dorado.” Locke's previous works focus on politics, culture, and social and economic justice, with a focus on exploring the alternative perspectives from those presented in the American corporate media.
