Historical Sketch and Roster of the Georgia 3rd Infantry Regiment

The Third Georgia Regiment, composed of Volunteer companies who responded to the first call for troops to defend the integrity of the Confederate States, rendezvoused at Portsmouth, Virginia. At the Gosport Navy Yard, the regiment was organized by the election of officers.
