This book describes the MA research of Jolien Geerlings, Radboud University Nijmegen. By living in Chuuk and interviewing its inhabitants, she studied the expectations and ambitions of adolesents in Chuuk State, Micronesia. These youths are growing up in a rapidly changing world. They are faced with the difficulties of living in a small island society, and the possibility that it might be difficult for them to realize their dreams.
