Brand new for 2022! Taking the Mystery Out of Funding Maryland Public Schools is divided into ten chapters with added appendices. The topics explored in these chapters include historical background, overview of the governance structure, lawsuits and court action, sources of funds, commissions, collective bargaining, local school system operating budget, local school system capital budget, charter school funding, and the recently adopted legislation titled Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. Following the final chapter are two appendices that contain an example of the annual state funding allocation with a table explaining each area of state funding and the projected funding required to implement the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future Act.
