The Butterflies that Rizal Chased, Collected and Studied
A book about the butterflies that Jose Rizal described in his diary as a boy, in a letter to him by his eldest sister, in one of his speeches, etc.; it also sheds light on the butterflies that Rizal saw in museums in his trips abroad, and the ones he and his students caught in Dapitan and sent to Europe. Includes Google satellite maps of Laguna and Dapitan where the author photographed butterfly species that Rizal must have seen, caught and studied during his time. This full-color illustrated book is multidisciplinary in approach: historical, scientific, and socio-cultural perspectives are interrelated.
