A collection of nine lectures that Joseph Stalin delivered to Communist Party trainees at Sverdlov University, The Foundations of Leninism is a classic work of Marxist-Leninist philosophy. Within these lectures, Stalin provides a concise account of the origin and basis of Leninism, the development of Marxism which repudiated the opportunism and chauvinism that infested the Second International, restored Marxism to its revolutionary roots, and led to the success of the Bolshevik Revolution and numerous revolutions in the decades that followed.
Although these lectures were delivered in 1924, the topics addressed are still as relevant as ever. Topics like nationalism, imperialism, colonialism, political opportunism, trade unionism, the exploitation of the working class, and other pertinent issues within the socialist Left are succinctly dissected through a Marxist lens and shown to have practical solutions with the strategic, tactical, and organizational implementation of Leninism.
