Once Upon a Time in Japan, 3rd Edition

An average American high school student, Michael, travels to Japan through an exchange program. Expecting only to learn another language and culture, Michael ends up joining a Japanese motorcycle gang and unveiling aspects of Japanese society never before seen by foreigners. Based on a true story, Michael’s travels and encounters are so detailed that the reader is successfully transported to the mountains of Osaka, Japan where young Japanese outcasts along with their new gang member, Michael, deal with abandonment, betrayal, and prejudice in a homogeneous society.
