In April 1943 the second, third and fourth Ranger battalions were activated. And the sixth, in the Philippines. Volunteers from all units of the U.S. Army came together that spring, attracted by the publicity that Lt. Col. Darby's Rangers had capitalized on in North Africa.
The new Rangers would storm Normandy at Pointe du Hoc and Bloody Omaha, conquer Brest, take Hill 400 in the Hürtgen Forest, and stage the largest rescue of World War II at Cabanatuan.
Sign up as a volunteer, but be warned: 60% casualties are expected on each mission. At least.
