Walk through Oxford's world-renowned university and city, looking at its sights through the eyes of a pseudo-intellectual cat called Simeon. Two university professors have endorsed Simeon's contribution to world literature, and Oxford City Sightseeing deems it 'simply hilarious'.
You meet many known characters from Oxford University, including C S Lewis, Tolkien, Gerard Manley-Hopkins, Mr Bean(!), Tim Berners-Lee and the White Rabbit.
Simeon is not slow to air his views on Oxford, the internet, how the British do not value words, and a whole host of other things. Over-confident in his ability to reason, he enjoys talking with faculty and students. He creates havoc in Blackwell's (the university bookshop), discovers an unpublished poem by Gerard Manley Hopkins, and lays plans to take the grin off the face of the Cheshire Cat.
All the characters in the book (faculty and postgraduate students) have used their own names and play along with him.
Meeting the White Rabbit was one of his great ambitions. Does he really manage to meet him? It seems he does.
40 line drawings. Maps of the main streets. You will laugh your head off at Simeon's expense! Don't worry — he's a good sport and it just feeds his ego.
