Sesquicentennial History of Shiloh Baptist Church, 1860-2010
Shiloh is a rural Southern Baptist congregation in western Johnston County, North Carolina, whose origins date to the eve of the Civil War. Before explosive population growth came to this neck of the woods in the 1990s, it was a typical close-knit country church made up primarily of interrelated farming families and Raleigh job commuters. As the new millennium approached, the story of this little white church on Cleveland Road took a dramatic turn, resulting in bigger numbers, budgets, and buildings, and new ways of doing church. Yet Shiloh's mission is still the same as a century and a half ago: celebrating and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
