The Uthānikā Granth Part 01 – Ang 0001 to 0150 Srī Gurū Granth Sāhib Jī by Sant Giānī Harī Singh (Randhāwe Wale).
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This book is the first in a series of books explaining the
different Uthānikās relating to the shabads found within the Srī
Gurū Granth Sāhib Jī. The first question you may ask is, what is
an Uthānikā? The Uthānikā is the preface or the context to the
shabads within Gurbānī. Not all shabads have a known context
but there are many that have a historical link to an incident, a
location, or a conversation.
This publication is to highlight the context behind some of the
shabads within the Srī Gurū Granth Sāhib Jī and here we focus
on the initial 150 limbs of Gurbānī. Some of the context includes
quotes from other texts to support the historical links.
Why am I writing this book or series of books? The reason is
simple, the modern Sikh writers are focused on only the basic
definitions of Gurbānī and used those commentaries that lack
any spiritual depth. Their commentary leaves you wondering
what the purpose of the shabad was or why it was written. This
causes those listeners or readers who have no faith in the
shabads or knowledge of the historical purpose. The Uthānikās
provide the reader with reasons for the shabads being uttered
and will allow them to delve into the history relating to the
lives of the Gurūs.
