Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This book is an English commentary on a prayer known as the
‘Salok Mahallā Nouvān’ which are the stanzās by the ninth
Gurū, Srī Gurū Tegh Bahādur Jī. This prayer is read at the
completion of the Akhānd Pāth or the closing of prayers from
the Srī Gurū Granth Sāhib Jī. This prayer is used to invoke a
sentiment of dispassion within both the reader and the listener
to detach from this world and focus upon the name of God. It is
the most read prayer by Srī Gurū Tegh Bahādur Jī and both has
a historical and spiritual significance.
There are numerous commentaries that can be found within
Sikh literature on this text but the one that impacted on me the
most was a lecture by Sant Harī Singh (Randhāwe Wāle). This
commentary took place on the 22nd of April 2012 at Gurdwārā
Singh Sabhā Malton, Canada. This commentary was
dispassionate and at the same time provided evidence from the
historical texts to show the importance in the passing of the
Gurūship from the ninth to the tenth Gurū.
The other reason why there is such great importance
