About Kate Jones Reiki Master

Reiki treatments gave me peace of mind and a sense that all would be well at a time when my world had turned upside down. I wished to be able to offer the same sense of wellbeing to other people, so in 1989 I learned how to do Reiki myself and it has been part of my daily life ever since. In 1991 I became a Reiki master and was honoured and delighted to enable other people to practice for themselves. I have taught and given healing ever since and continue to learn and develop. From 1991 I was involved with The Reiki Association and in particular in discussions about the qualities needed for Reiki practitioners offering sessions to the public. This led to participating in development of the Reiki National Occupational Standards and the Reiki Council and Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) core curricula. I serve on the CNHC Reiki Profession Specific Board as well as other voluntery roles, including being a director for the Reiki Healthcare Research Trust. I practice and teach a Reiki system passed down from Hawayo Takata Sensei, who first brought Reiki to the West. Honouring this tradition I have experienced this practice as more than a healing technique. It has given be personal development, is my spiritual discipline and connects me with communities of people who share mystic experience. Life is never without challenges, but I have found that having Reiki in my hands has helped me to ride the waves, like a boat in a storm.
