Hell's Mariah

Hell's Mariah

ByKatherine O'Hara

After being transformed and entombed a century ago, the vampire Mariah emerges from her crypt in Seattle's historic Lakeview Cemetery. Haunted by specters from her past, she prowls the streets of the city and is assimilated into the street life of the destitute and homeless upon whom she feeds. On the streets of a city that never sleeps Mariah finds Brian Freeman, a young social worker, struggling to rescue adolescent transients from a world of drugs, sex and disease and is drawn into a fatal web of familial associations with him. Pursued by Detective Jesse Cordova, Maraih stays just one step ahead of the police until an officer's bullet brings Freeman down, causing Mariah to go toe to toe with Cordova in order to save Freeman's life. Kate O'Hara has lived in Seattle for nearly thirty years. This is her first full-length novel. She is the author of a children's book, The ALLEY CAT WARS, and is working on a sequel to HELL'S MARIAH.
