LUKA—a novel exposing the dystopian nature of a society through the growth and development of a compassionate child. In a small cottage, near the edge of the woods, lives a bright, beautiful child by the name of Luka. A young, tender soul, he absorbs and learns whatever he can from those around him, regardless of how long they remain in his life. Some lessons, however, are more difficult to learn than others. Haunted by dreams, and deprived of enduring relationships, he lives in a society where the most important lessons remain obscured, from both teacher and student alike. In the world of Luka, family has faded from memory, and intimacy has been pruned away, what remains to foster this child’s growth?
