One Welsh Lady “Finding happiness in a Neurological realm’

Self-discovery! My name is Kelly, I have lived in ‘This Gritty, Pretty, Shitty Swansea’ all my little life. My existence has been enriched with a mixture of favourable and unfavourable experiences. Numerous individuals find it difficult to fathom that I am still breathing, and quite honestly, even I sometimes struggle to comprehend it! The motivation behind crafting this brief narrative stems from the fact that I was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD at a relatively late stage in my life. Throughout this period, I grappled with the idea that nobody seemed aware of this condition, and to my dismay, people generally displayed a dismissive attitude towards the subject. I was told that I live with ADHD & Dyslexia, and this revelation completely reformed the journey I was on. At first, I felt a mix of emotions, relief, confusion, and even a hint of fear. As I dug deeper into understanding this condition, I realised it was an opportunity for growth and self-discovery.
