A guide to the Mexico City Metro train system that would serve both its utilitarian use for getting you around the massive city, and an introduction to interesting stops that offer a little extra cultural exchange, either at the station itself or in its immediate vicinity. The names of the Metro stops remind us of an ancient and colonial past, as the underground train exhumes, sometimes literally, the Aztecs and their Spanish conquerors, and the city’s liberation from them; The Mexico City Metro will examine some of this history.
