The Revelation: Heaven’s Open Door

The Revelation was written to be understood. The root meaning of the word “revelation” means to “pull back the veil.” Recalling the veil that shrouded the Holy of Holies and the very Presence of God in the Tabernacle of old, the veil of heaven is pulled open, enabling John to testify to the church that God is on his throne. The door to heaven is open; you are invited to step in just as John did when he accepted the invitation of Jesus to “Come up here.” As you peer inside, you will not find The Revelation to confuse the mind, but rather a thrilling drama to stir the heart. As you see and hear what John saw and heard, you may appropriate the blessing promised by Jesus himself: “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy.” Like any stage play you might attend, there will be times of joy and sadness—and even confusion. But fear not. The door to heaven is open. Come up here. Be inspired. God is on his throne; heaven is not panicked; endure and overcome.
