On a certain clear night in the middle of the harvest season, two young rascals made a foray into the grooves of the ancient gods, and succeeded in awakening to life a long dormant deity called Ikorommuo - the masked spirit of death. Three seasons later, three mighty kingdoms had been reduced to ruins, and a fourth, Obododike, was next in line.
Ikorormmuo was simply unstoppable; Obododike was on the brink of extinction. At the last moment however, the solution was revealed: a skin-bag of white sand from the shrine of the deity himself would cleanse the land of his wrath. But knowing the solution was one thing; actually carrying it out was another. For the shrine was located in the most terrible place imaginable: the Land of the Dead.
To undertake this terrible mission, eight people were chosen: an ancient dibia, a young maiden, and six outcasts. This is the tale of their sojourn in the land of the dead - the tale of their bravery, valor, and sacrifice.
