In 1163, on the northern tip of Scotland, Dougal de Dubh was born to be a cattle raider. And so she was, until her father sold her to the captain of a coastal trading ship. When the ship sinks during a Channel crossing, she washes up on the coast of France and into the middle of a plot between Geoffrey, Duke of Brittany and Philippe of France. They mean to have the English throne but it is a prize that can only be held by someone who is of the blood.
