ELEGY: In Memoriam Douglass Green

This is the complete score (which also functions as the parts) for an 8 minute work for wordless mixed chorus (SATB). It also features two short poetry readings from "The River Motet" by Patricia Clark, which may be read by two ensemble members, or by guest readers. It is an introspective piece, neotonal with some Mahler-like moments, but with interesting linear harmonies that provide a thoughtful backdrop to the beautiful poetry, and its elegiac nature. The wordless chorus gives it an otherworldly sound which can be a refreshing contrast in any type of program.
