Six or Seven Songs from Eight Significant Landscapes
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This is a song cycle for soprano voice and piano. It was commissioned by Tony Olson and Eva Peng (The Lyric Duo) and features the poetry of Wallace Stevens. The music is very impressionistic and evocative. The soprano part is quite high, requiring a strong upper range in places, and the piano part is difficult, and is really an equal partner in the piece.
Overall, it is accessible and melodic, with impressionist overtones rendered through a late 20C prism.
