A few years ago I completed self publishing a series of documents on Edward & Alice Dennis Family History which documented my father’s side of the family. I then started researching my mother’s side which turned out to be somewhat more complicated because the ancestral origins are in Germany. Fortunately some documents have been translated by Ancestry and FamilySearch so I was able to do some genealogical investigations. My grandfather, Will Thomas, was born in Germany in 1882 and came to America with his mother, Louise Wiel, to meet up with his father, Adam Thomas, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, USA. Adam and Louise married in 1883 and had 5 more children in the area before moving to Watertown, SD. All the children remained in USA except for Will who traveled with the Clark family to Carlyle in the North West Territories of Canada. I was able to gather numerous photographs from family members in Canada and USA and to research descendants from the US genealogical records. This family history document provides some information on the German ancestors and siblings of Adam Thomas and Louise Wiel. Also, there is some discussion and photographs of Adam and Louise’s family who remained in USA. A brief discussion of Will Thomas move to Canada and subsequent family is included.
