A BOX OF ROCKS A PAIR OF BOOTS

Eddie Day became a local Montana hero in the midst of a winter snowstorm. Years later he was drafted and fought in the Korean War. While attempting to save a wounded officer on the field of battle he was captured. Years of imprisonment, military and political misinformation caused him to lose his marriage. Returning to the USA a decade later he faced months of rehabilitation and found love in an Army nurse named Major Jody Sutton. His church, faith and local community gave him the support needed to rebuild his life. Major Sutton was promoted and had a tour in Vietnam, leaving Eddie behind persuing a dream. When she returned stateside they married and adopted two Vietnamese orphans. On their ranch in Gallatin County north of Bozeman, they watched in wonder as the many sunsets above the Rockies gave off their colorful display. Years later he was honored in his hometown on a Veteran's Day weekend. The box of rocks and a pair of boots punctuated his life. He was a 'Hero' to many and admired by many others.
