Two Birds; One Stone
Two short stories in which nothing is what it seems. In "Madness for Memphis", Laura Brown's day turns out to be quite extraordinary. Finding herself in the back of a cab with a man she swore she'd never date, a government agent and a women who thinks Laura is her long-lost daughter is bad enough. Soon, seemingly unconnected persons and events come together in a maddening rush to save the world from nuclear destruction. In "Losing Fifteen", 15 year old Rachel Ferguson wakes up one day and is told that not only is she 20, but she has been in a coma for 15 years and the life she lived was nothing but a dream. However, when a familiar face from her invented past appears, Rachel learns that what she has been told may not be the truth. Yet the implications of the truth are far to incredible to imagine.
