The Island of Dread (Book 1, The Adventures of Sam and his Magic Pocket)

While he is on vacation in Florida, Sam discovers that his pocket has been enchanted to give him wishes, but he doesn't always wish for the best things. Sam, his cousin, Cynthia and his trusty dog, Max become lost at sea until they are rescued by mice sailing on a magical ship called the Jolly Ox. During their stay in the Kingdom of Mice, they are attacked by a troop of crabs from the Island of Dread. The Mouse Queen is kidnapped, along with a mysterious pouch. As they make their way to the Island of Dread with the King of Mice, they begin to uncover a web of mystery surrounding the pouch of Magic Dust from the Stone of Argus.
