The solar god Apollo

Apollo, also known as Phoibos - "The Shining One", is one of the most important gods in Greek mythology. He is the son of Zeus and Leto, and his twin sister is Artemis. He was born on the island of Delos, his residence was on the top of Mount Parnassus in Delphi, from where he sent inspiration. He is the god of light, knowledge, art, music and poetry, the guide of the Muses. He was also identified with the sun god Helios, who rode a golden chariot across the sky.
