Birds and Words

Birds and Words is an alphabet book, filled with poems and art about birds! The work in this book was once a chain of postcards sent from a grandmother to a grandson from one side of the United States to the other. Each postcard traveled for many miles mimicking their feathery friends. Deciding on which birds to include was no easy task, the grandmother procured over one-hundred and fifty different birds for the twenty-six unique poems. Each bird name has been elegantly fit into each poem based on the letters in the alphabet. Upon receiving the letters, the grandson set to work on putting the poems and illustrations into this book to celebrate the wonders of his grandmother's work.
