English Language Arts 2 - Parent & Teacher Guide
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
This course encompasses reading, writing, spelling, speaking, and listening. By integrating this content, students have the opportunity to learn in a holistic manner. At this age, your student is at the cusp of transitioning from learning to read to reading to learn. While your student might be a fluent reader already, this is the year when reading for understanding takes on more importance. Like every school year, this year is full of new learning, but it also reviews some important skills that your student may have already mastered. Spiraling curriculum refers to presenting previously learned content in a new context with increased complexity. This type of curriculum presentation allows your student to build on prior knowledge. Even if your student has mastered a skill in the past, it is important to revisit those skills, if only briefly, in order to help your student grow.
