Science 5 - Parent & Teacher Guide
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Science 5, by Lincoln Empowered™. This year, students will have the opportunity to create models, conduct experiments, build a terrarium, and create an electromagnet. Students will learn how sound and light waves travel, how worms are beneficial, why objects in the Southern Hemisphere do not fall off the planet, and how electrical charges attract. Fifth grade is such an exciting year for the study of science, as students are able to apply the skills and knowledge they have gained in past years. This knowledge base allows them to conduct more sophisticated experiments. Students will continue to expand their understanding of familiar topics in the areas of physics, chemistry, Earth science, ecology, biology, space science, technology, and engineering. By studying each of these areas of science every year, students gain a lasting understanding, building on the concepts as more details and complexity are introduced. These lessons encourage students to become innovative problem solvers who are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to address twenty-first century issues.
