Social Studies 4 - Parent & Teacher Guide

ByLincoln Learning Solutions

Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Fourth grade marks the beginning of a great leap in academic, social, and physical development. As students mature, they are able to take on more challenging work, and they tend to take their work more seriously. This intellectual growth, paired with the curiosity and inventiveness of fourth-grade students, makes learning exciting. Students will expand their research skills, begin to analyze historical events critically, and explore the history and geography of their state. This year is a great time to bring history to life with a visit to historical landmarks or museums. The common thread of civic responsibility found in all Lincoln Empowered™ social studies courses is woven throughout the curriculum as students are engaged in thinking about what it means to be a productive, responsible citizen of the United States and of their own community. It is always beneficial to personalize your student’s learning by relating the lesson content to their own region, community, and family.
